Hanane Korchi
Hanane is a Graphic Design graduate from Capilano College where she is currently back studying Arts Management. Her artistic skills include a variety of crafts as well as fine arts. Her volunteer work with the Muslim community ranges from local fundraisers to MSA National work to month-long retreats abroad with Deen Intensive. She recently travelled to Damascus to study Arabic and calligraphy for a short time.
Jamil Popatia
Jamil was born in Vancouver in the mid 70's to two immigrant parents from East Africa. He completed his B.A. in sociology from the University of British Columbia in the late 90's. After working in youth and social services for two years, Jamil travelled to the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Morocco where he lived, worked and studied for several years. As a Canadian Muslim with roots in both the Islamic world and the West, he hopes that his work with Islamic Speakers Bureau will be a catalyst for further bridge-building between Muslims and other cultural and religious groups within the broader Canadian society.
Omar Khan
Omar was born and raised in British Columbia. He received his B.Sc. in computing science from Simon Fraser University. He currently works as a software architect for a local software consulting firm. In addition to his work with ISB-Vancouver he volunteers his expertise in software/website development to various organization across North America and also takes part in various youth efforts across the Lower Mainland.
